WHO ARE WE ?
Gosford Community Transport Inc. is a non-profit community organisation,
whose aim is to help the transport disadvantaged people of the Gosford Local Government
area. We are accredited operators with the Department of Transport. We receive some
funding from the Department of Transport and from the Home and Community Care (HACC)
Program. The HACC Program is jointly funded by the State and Commonwealth governments, and
includes services such as ours, Meals on Wheels, Community Nursing, Respite Care, Day
Care, Home Modification & Maintenance, Home Care, Neighbour Aid.
WHAT WE DO ?
We operate buses with hydraulic lift steps to access wheelchairs,
and cars. Our drivers are specially trained to provide extra care for our clients, all
services are door to door. We cover the areas bounded by Forresters Beach, Patonga,
Mangrove Mountain, Spencer, Lisarow.
Our vehicles provide shopping access services weekly from all areas; access to a social
outing once a month; individual transports to medical appointments (some restrictions
apply); and Veteran's transport for those eligible
WHO IS ELIGIBLE ?
Via the telephone we ask a few questions to ensure we service people who reside in the
Gosford Local Government Area; are living in their own home or self-care. We target people
who are frail aged, or have a permanent disability; are a carer of a person who is frail
or disabled. Preference is given to those who cannot access public transport because of
their frailty or disability; and have no other means of transport or are geographically
isolated. Small fees are charged for services to help cover running costs.
BOOKINGS
All bookings are prioritised on a need basis, and depend on availability of resources. The office is open 8 am to 3.30 pm Monday to Friday.
